Recognising that many farms stretch across large and multiple geographic regions HerdInsights have developed Herdinflight a revolutionary drone compatible estrus and health monitoring gateway. HerdInflight will enable farmers to monitor their herd’s health and reproductive status using drone technologies. The solution has been developed so the health and reproductive status of livestock on pasture based farms can be monitored more effectively without any restrictions on range or accessibility.
Farming across large and multiple locations can bring a number of challenges, for example stockmen have less time or opportunity to observe each animal thoroughly, visits are quite often for short periods and tend to disturb the animals in which case the animal’s behaviour may not be typical of the diurnal rhythms, therefore decisions in relation to heat and health monitoring are more often than not based on fragmented information.
With the introduction of HerdInflight farm management will be able to monitor individual animals behaviour at any time of the day without disturbing the animals in addition for those with herds over vast areas HerdInflight will enable farm management to select semen and reproductive protocols prior to the cow coming into the parlour and therefore in a far less stressful scenario.
